GALAXY ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, known for its unrivalled commitment to excellence, has joined forces with Capella Hotels and Resorts to introduce an opulent oasis in the heart of Macau. This collaboration marks the first Capella property in the region’s Greater Bay Area, and it promises to redefine the concept of ultra-luxury experiences.
Capella at Galaxy Macau, set to open its doors in mid-2025, is a testament to unparalleled luxury. The 17-storey gilded mansion reflects Galaxy’s signature golden allure and offers 36 Sky Villas and 57 Suites that epitomise sophistication and indulgence.
“We are thrilled to create this magnificent embodiment of ultra-luxury 21st-century hospitality in partnership with Capella Hotels and Resorts. This collaboration aligns with our strategic growth plan to establish unique flagship properties within the Galaxy Macau integrated resort and beyond,” says Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group.
Luxe Guest Experience
With interiors designed by the renowned Paris-based firm Moinard Bētaille — feted as the interior designers for some of the world’s leading luxury brand stores, including the global flagships for Cartier, Breitling, and Audemars Piguet — the new property is on target to set a new standard of expectation for luxury guests arriving in Macau.
Drawing on the lush greenery of Macau’s landscape for inspiration, design agency Moinard Bētaill has created a serene and nature-inspired ambience that is truly unique. Each Sky Villa at Capella at Galaxy Macau features a sun-dappled balcony, transparent infinity-edge pool, outdoor lounge, sunroom and hidden winter garden, creating a tranquil retreat amidst breathtaking surroundings throughout the year.
The luxurious villas are designed to facilitate socialising and come complete with amenities such as a butler pantry, karaoke room with cigar butler and premium stogie collection, private cocktail bar and a games lounge. The suites boast private plunge pools and balconies with commanding views overlooking Macau’s iconic architecture.
Analysing their work, Bruno Moinard and Claire Bētaille of Moinard Bētaille explained the themes of the design: “Galaxy Entertainment Group granted us the exceptional freedom to conceptualise Capella at Galaxy Macau. Macau’s adventurous spirit and rich history inspired our tropical jungle theme, evoking feelings of generosity and modernity, punctuated by delightful surprises for guests. A central element of this project is our profound connection with water, inviting guests to imagine themselves suspended in their glistening pool.”
Kwan’s Iconic Lounge
Renowned for its category-defining quality and exceptional service, Capella Hotels and Resorts is set to elevate the standards of elegant luxury in Macau.
The property will feature a bold new take on Capella’s signature Living Room, serving as a cultural hub and a hotbed of lively discussion and insightful conversation. ‘Pony & Plume,’ a members-only lounge designed by Hong Kong interior design legend Albert Kwan, will offer an elegant social space adorned with colonial Chinoiserie, providing an exclusive retreat for connoisseurs and aesthetes.
Plume is the invitation-only terrace reserved for dedicated enthusiasts of the finer things in life. The secret venue boasts a display of trinkets and objets d’art from a private collection that incorporates antiques, art, and items from important national icons, such as El Commandante himself.
The bar at Capella at Galaxy Macau, designed once again by Moinard Bētaille and inspired by the equestrian sport of polo, will showcase an exceptional assortment of rare and limited-edition whiskies. A specially curated selection of Japanese whiskies from expert producers will further enhance the bar’s distinctive offerings.
Experimental Twist
At the heart of Capella at Galaxy Macau’s culinary experience is the collaboration with Chef Vicky Cheng, a culinary star and Asia’s 50 Best and Michelin-starred Chef. Cheng’s rise to fame saw him receive three awards in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024, ranking him fifth in the region for Wing, his Hong Kong restaurant.
Guests will have the opportunity to savour an unforgettable epicurean journey curated by Chef Cheng, whose fine-dining establishment promises to be the region’s most anticipated new opening in 2025. The restaurant celebrates the best of homegrown talent in the Greater Bay Area, offering an intimate setting designed by the award-winning Hong Kong interior designer Joyce Wang.
On top of the extraordinary dining options, Capella at Galaxy Macau will feature a signature all-day dining restaurant, further enhancing the array of authentic gastronomic experiences available to diners in Macau. A commitment to exceptional cuisine reflects Galaxy Entertainment Group’s rich cultural heritage and dedication to creating outstanding moments at the integrated resort.
Capella at Galaxy Macau represents the pinnacle of luxury and sophistication, offering guests an unparalleled opportunity to immerse themselves in a world of luxury and refinement. With its unique blend of authentic experiences, impeccable service, and extraordinary design, this collaboration between Galaxy Entertainment Group and Capella Hotels and Resorts is set to redefine the hospitality landscape in Macau and beyond.
